Hello and welcome to Rosewood Therapy.
Perhaps you're feeling more anxious lately. You find it hard to switch off, you're struggling to relax, and small things seem harder to cope with than usual. You might be navigating big life changes and feel overwhelmed or lost. Or maybe nothing obvious has happened at all, but you just don't feel quite like yourself.
You've come to the right place.
I help adults who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck to better understand what is going on for them and to find some calm. I use a Gestalt approach, which means that I help you tune into the present moment and bring awareness to your thoughts, feelings, and patterns that might be getting in the way.
I am an immigrant and a military spouse, therefore I have a personal understanding of what it feels like to build a life away from what is familiar. I understand the uncertainty that comes with moving, the challenge of starting again, and how isolating it can be when your support network is no longer close by.
Therapy can be a consistent space of support amidst all of that change. A place where you can talk openly, be heard, and have someone alongside you while you find your grounding.
About Me
Alexandra Irvine
I am a trainee counsellor providing low‑cost therapy while I finish my counselling qualification on a BACP-accredited course.
My background includes an honours degree in psychology and neuroscience, where I studied mental health clinically, learning about neuroscience, psychopharmaceuticals, and diagnostic criteria. I was also involved in research on anxiety at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic in Canada.
I then moved to the UK and pursued a more personal approach to therapy. I completed a year-long foundation in person-centred psychotherapy and counselling, and then completed the taught-portion of a diploma in Gestalt counselling. As a counsellor, I allow my work to be lead by my clients and their goals. I focus on how clients are in the here and now, and tune into our therapeutic relationship to allow for greater awareness.

Affordable Counselling
I have chosen to offer low‑cost counselling sessions while completing the final submissions for my diploma. This allows me to make therapy more accessible, especially for clients who may be navigating financial pressure, life transitions, or the emotional weight of starting over in a new place.
I offer a free 15 minute consultation before we begin session to give you the chance to ask questions and for us to get to know each other.
Online sessions are offered at £50 per session while in person sessions are £55 per session.
